What Is a Digital Signage Display?

A Digital Signage Display is a finished commercial screen designed primarily for advertising, menus, promotions, product information, announcements, public information and corporate communication.

DisplayMan supports a complete 10.1"–98" Digital Signage Display range within Touchscreen All-in-One TerminalsEnterprise & Industrial Terminals.

The product can be configured as a compact shelf display, counter display, wall-mounted advertising screen, Android CMS display or large-format 98" commercial screen.

Standard Digital Signage Displays are primarily indoor products. Window-facing, direct-sunlight, semi-outdoor and outdoor projects should be evaluated through High Brightness Displays.

Core Digital Signage Functions

  • Commercial LCD display from 10.1" to 98"
  • Landscape or portrait content playback
  • Local media, browser content or network CMS
  • Android, Linux, Windows or external media player
  • Wi-Fi, Ethernet and selected 4G
  • Scheduled startup, shutdown and content playback
  • Wall, counter, desktop, VESA or project-specific mounting
  • Optional touch and selected smart-signage functions
  • Custom logo, housing, UI, mounting and packaging
Core Product Positioning

Digital Signage Displays are content and information displays first. Touch, camera, NFC and serial I/O can be reviewed for selected smart-signage projects, but projects centered on self-service, access control or industrial operation should use the corresponding specialized terminal category.

Practical Maximum Size

For regular commercial projects, 98" is the most practical maximum size. A 110" display can be reviewed only as a special project because cost, availability, packing, transport and installation risk rise substantially.

Strong-Light and Outdoor Project Route

Need Window-Facing, Sunlight-Readable or Outdoor Signage?

Do not use a standard indoor Digital Signage Display by default. These projects require separate review of target brightness, reflection, backlight heat, direct-sun exposure, enclosure protection, ventilation or air conditioning, condensation and installation position.

Use the dedicated High Brightness Displays category for this requirement.

Choose by Size and Viewing Distance

Compact

10.1"–21.5"

Suitable for shelves, counters, room information, compact terminals, equipment displays and close viewing.

Mainstream

23.8"–43"

Suitable for retail stores, restaurants, hotels, offices, clinics, menus and standard wall-mounted signage.

Large Format

55"–75"

Suitable for shopping malls, showrooms, conference areas, enterprise communication and high-impact advertising.

Extra Large

86"–98"

Suitable for large halls, exhibitions, flagship stores, public spaces and high-visibility single-screen projects.

Practical Maximum

98"

Usually provides the best balance of visible size, availability, cost, packing, transport and installation risk.

Special Evaluation

110"

Can be reviewed for special projects, but it is not recommended as a standard size because cost and delivery risk increase sharply.

When to Use a Specialized Terminal Category

Floor-Standing Kiosks

A Digital Signage Display may be installed in a floor-standing structure. Use the kiosk category when the project requires a complete freestanding enclosure, deep internal equipment space, printer, scanner, payment device or self-service workflow.

Open Frame Digital Signage

Use Open Frame when the display must be embedded into the customer's machine, cabinet or custom enclosure.

Wall-Mounted Touch Terminals

Use this category when application operation, user input and business workflow are more important than content playback.

Interactive Flat Panels

Use this route for meetings, classrooms, collaborative annotation and multi-user interaction.

AI Recognition & Smart Access Terminals

Use this category when face recognition, identity verification, access control or attendance is the core function.

Industrial Panel PCs & Rugged Waterproof Terminals

Use this category for industrial control, rugged computing, sealed structures and demanding operating environments.

High Brightness Displays

Use this separate environmental product route for window-facing, direct-sunlight, semi-outdoor and outdoor signage where standard indoor brightness, heat control and protection are not sufficient.

Digital Signage Remains the Broad Finished-Display Category

The specialized pages explain different structures, environments and core workflows. They do not reduce DisplayMan's 10.1"–98" Digital Signage Display capability. Window-facing, sunlight-readable and outdoor projects should be routed to High Brightness Displays.

  • Licensing and image management
Confirm Software Before Selecting the Motherboard

Operating-system version, CPU architecture, application permissions, video decoding, browser engine, drivers and long-term updates must be defined before sample production.

Touchscreen or Non-Touch Digital Signage?

Choose Non-Touch When

  • The screen is used for advertising, menus or announcements
  • Content is controlled remotely through CMS
  • The screen is mounted above normal user reach
  • Lower cost and simpler maintenance are priorities
  • Users only need to view information

Choose Touch When

  • Users browse products or basic information
  • The content includes simple interactive navigation
  • The software is designed for public touch operation
  • Cover glass, mounting height and user reach are defined
  • Signage content remains the primary purpose
Do Not Turn Every Interactive Project into Digital Signage

Projects centered on check-in, registration, complex wayfinding, ordering or business applications are usually better positioned as Wall-Mounted Touch Terminals or Floor-Standing Kiosks. Review Touch vs Non-Touch Display before adding touch.

FAQ

Can Digital Signage Displays be used in storefront windows or outdoors?

Standard indoor Digital Signage Displays are not automatically suitable for direct sunlight or outdoor exposure. Window-facing, sunlight-readable and outdoor projects should use the High Brightness Displays product route with brightness, thermal management, protection and installation reviewed for the real environment.

What is a Digital Signage Display?

A Digital Signage Display is a ready-to-deploy commercial screen used for advertising, menus, announcements, product information, internal communication, wayfinding and selected interactive applications.

What size range does this product page cover?

DisplayMan supports Digital Signage Displays from 10.1 inches to 98 inches, covering compact, standard, large-format and extra-large commercial display projects.

What is the largest practical Digital Signage Display size?

For regular commercial projects, 98 inches is usually the most practical maximum size because it provides a strong balance of visible area, availability, cost, packing, transport and installation risk.

Can DisplayMan provide a 110-inch Digital Signage Display?

A 110-inch display can be reviewed as a special project, but it is not recommended as a standard option because the cost and delivery risk increase significantly compared with 98 inches.

Can Digital Signage Displays be wall-mounted?

Yes. Wall-mounted landscape or portrait installation is available across many compact, standard and large-format models, subject to housing, weight, bracket and wall conditions.

Can Digital Signage Displays be floor-standing?

Yes. A Digital Signage Display may be installed in a floor-standing structure. Use the Floor-Standing Kiosk category when the project requires a complete freestanding enclosure, deep internal equipment space, self-service peripherals or a business workflow.

Can Digital Signage Displays support touch?

Yes. Selected models can support projected capacitive or infrared touch for light interactive signage. Projects centered on check-in, ordering, complex wayfinding or business applications are usually better positioned as Wall-Mounted Touch Terminals or Floor-Standing Kiosks.

Can the display run Android?

Yes. Android platforms can support local playback, CMS applications, browser-based content and project-specific APKs, subject to hardware, Android version and software requirements.

Can the display run Linux or Windows?

Yes. Linux or Windows can be reviewed when the project requires embedded software, enterprise applications, special drivers or customer-controlled software environments.

Can we install our own APK?

This can be reviewed on Android projects. APK installation, launcher control, kiosk mode, automatic startup, permissions, firmware access and update responsibility should be confirmed before sample production.

Can it support CMS content management?

Yes. The display may use a built-in Android CMS application, a Windows or Linux content system, browser-based content or an external media player.

Can it support PoE?

Selected compact and wall-mounted models can support PoE. The PoE standard, power budget, cable length, device consumption and network architecture must be confirmed.

Can it support Ethernet, Wi-Fi or 4G?

Yes, depending on the selected platform. Ethernet is preferred for stable fixed deployment, Wi-Fi supports flexible indoor installation and 4G can be reviewed for sites without local networks.

Can it support RS232 or RS485?

Selected motherboards can support RS232, RS485, GPIO or other project-specific interfaces. Connector, voltage, protocol, isolation and software drivers must be confirmed.

Can it support a camera, NFC, GPS, microphone or speakers?

Selected smart-signage configurations can support these functions. When recognition, access control or industrial operation becomes the main purpose, use the corresponding specialized terminal category.

What is the difference between Digital Signage Displays and Open Frame Digital Signage?

Digital Signage Displays are more ready to deploy with a finished housing. Open Frame Digital Signage is designed for customers who integrate the display into their own equipment or enclosure.

Can DisplayMan support OEM branding?
